The View of a Worker of Homes for the Elderly on the Death of their Client

The aim of the bachelor's thesis was to find out how home for the elderly workers view their client's death, also to see if there is a difference in perspective between the social worker and the social services worker. A qualitative research investigation was used to find answers. Queries were used as a method of collecting data. The qualitative research technique was applied in a semi structured interview. The research set was composed with 6 workers of homes for the elderly. Social workers and workers in social services were represented in equal proportions. Homes for the elderly were chosen by random selection from homes in the South Bohemia Region. An open-coding method was used to evaluate the result. Research has shown that home for the elderly workers view their client's death as part of their job. This view was influenced by practice in arranged initially for them death was taboo, but with the length of practice their perspective changed and they are able to talk about death with clients. The research also found that the difference in the view of death by a social worker and a worker in social services was minimal. It also found out what the difference is between a facility that provides palliative care and a facility that does not use palliative care. Workers homes for the elderly practicing palliative care are used to and taught to interact more with the dying clients. It can make it easier for them to deal with the their death. The use of this bachelor's thesis is varied. It can be used as information material for the management of homes for the elderly, which it can serve as a basis for finding the help of individual workers of a home for the elderly. Another use of this bachelor's thesis may be to inspire other social work students to research the subject.

The theoretical part presents thepractice in field of home personal assistance and residential home care and summarizes possible stress factors in both areas. The practical part identifies the most challenging moments and situations for the social workers in both areas. The foundation of this thesis is therefore a senior, a social worker and stress factors arising from his work with the elderly.

Dignity of a person with a mental disability

The thesis deals with the reflection of evaluation of human dignity at work with people with mental disabilities in the facility of the STROOM DUB o. p. s. center by social workers and workers at social services. The first part of the thesis deals with the general explanation of the term human dignity, then dignity of people with mental disabilities and the significance of human dignity in Christianity. Furthermore, the thesis describes a brief overview of history and introduces the social work with people with mental disabilities. The second part of the thesis is focused on the STROOM DUB o. p. s. center, its creation and description, further on the objectives, interests and work of the center. It briefly introduces clients which reside in the center all year round or outpatient and their work and the individual therapeutic workshops. The last part of the thesis deals with the research in facilities itself, objective of which is to find out how the workers of the center - social workers and workers at social services approach clients with mental disabilities, if they respect/do not respect dignity of people with mental disabilities and how the perceive this interaction.

Individual supervision for workers in residential facilities

The thesis deals with the significance of individual supervision of social workers in residential facilities. The first part characterizes social workers. It also describes this profession and the professional and personality qualities a social worker should have. The second part describes supervision, its functions and possible types. It also contains a detailed description of individual supervision, the course of a supervisory meeting as well as the significance of the supervisory relationship, and mentions certain techniques that may be used as part of individual supervision. The third part addresses the introduction of individual supervision into residential facilities. It contains the characteristics of residential facilities, decisions leading to the introduction of individual supervision into an organisation, criteria for the selection of a suitable supervisor, contracting process, fields of worker reflection and the completion of supervision. The final part deals with individual supervision of social workers in the Retirement Home Hvízdal in České Budějovice and with reflection of theoretical findings in practice in the said retirement home

This bachelor thesis describes the importance of the supervision of the social workers within the limits and frameworks of the long-term stay institution.In the first part of the thesis, I describe kinds, forms, functions, and methods used during the supervision process. I describe the supervision process more in detail. The next two chapters further describe the social services in general. In the last two chapters , I am coping with the importance of the supervision. I compare the theory with my own practical experience.

Competences of Social Workers in Social Services in the Social Activation Service for Families with Children

7 Abstract The diploma thesis examines the topic of competences of both social workers (SW) and workers in social services (WSS) in the social activation service for families (SASFC) with children in the district of Chomutov. It aims to describe the legal competences of SASFC workers and subsequently to check the actual practice in the field of competences of SASFC workers. The theoretical part of the thesis defines social workers and workers in social services mainly according to the Act on Social Services. The second chapter then defines SASFC and further defines the concept of family from the point of view of typology and functions. The chapter also presents the possibilities of social work with the family and maps the services of the SASFC in the Chomutov district. The last chapter defines the concept of competence and lists the professional qualification prerequisites for SW and WSS based on the Social Services Act. The practical part of the thesis presents the research goal and used methodology. The methodology of respondent selection and data collection is described. The ethical principles and limitations of the investigation are mentioned. The influence of psychological safety on the motivation and personal engagement of workers in social services in Domov Maxov

Diplomová práce cílí na klima psychické bezpečnosti a možnou souvislost s motivací a osobní angažovaností pracovníků v sociálních službách v jedné organizaci poskytující sociální služby dospělým lidem se zdravotním handicapem. Hlavní text diplomové práce je tvořen teoretickou a praktickou částí, přičemž teoretická část se zaměřuje na definování a vymezení pracovních uskupení a návazně pak klimatu psychické bezpečnosti ve spojitosti s pracovním prostředím, dále pak vymezení pojmů motivace a osobní angažovanost. V praktické části diplomové práce jsou vyhodnocena data získaná prostřednictvím kvantitativního dotazníkového šetření v organizaci poskytující čtyři druhy sociálních služeb. Sociální službu Chráněné bydlení, Sociálně terapeutické dílny, Domov pro osoby se zdravotním postižením a Domov se zvláštním režimem. Dotazníkového šetření se účastnilo celkem 29 pracovníků v sociálních službách této organizace. Dotazník zkoumal klima psychické bezpečnosti v daných sociálních službách. Polostrukturované rozhovory se zaměřují na odhalení souvislostí mezi klimatem psychické bezpečnosti, motivací a angažovaností zaměstnanců pracujících v sociálních službách v rámci jedné organizace.
